As a fiduciary financial advisor in Spring Hill, Holland Capital helps two-income households, one paycheck from local manufacturing and one from a remote job, decide how much cash to keep on hand and how hard to push retirement savings. We sit down with Spring Hill clients by appointment at CoWork on Town Center Parkway, and keep in touch by phone or video.
Two paychecks. Two kinds of employer. One savings plan for the house.
About 61% of Spring Hill residents were born in another U.S. state. About 23% of workers work from home, about 11% work in manufacturing, and the median household income is about $112,000. GM’s Spring Hill plant and the Ultium Cells battery plant are both here.
When each spouse works in a different field, the two jobs can carry different risks. That affects two choices: how large your cash reserve should be, and how much you can put toward retirement each month. Any advisor you are considering should tell you if they act as a fiduciary and explain their pay.
Sizing the Cash Reserve for Your Household
We start with your monthly spending and then size the cash reserve around your household. We look at what each paycheck covers, what benefits each job provides and how long your savings would cover the bills if one income paused.
The goal is enough cash to cover a disruption without leaving more uninvested than your plan requires.
Deciding How Much Goes to Retirement
Each of you may have a different workplace plan, match and investment menu. We decide which plan gets the next dollar, how much each of you should contribute and whether an IRA belongs in the mix. Our guide on how to maximize your 401(k) explains the basics.

Putting Extra Cash to Work
Money above the reserve has a job, too. Some of it may go to near-term goals, such as a car or a child’s activities. The rest can be invested for longer goals. Our investment management invests that money and your retirement accounts as one plan.
How We Work with Clients in Spring Hill
Holland Capital Management is an independent registered investment adviser and a fiduciary. M. Chad Holland, CFA, CFP® works directly with clients and is responsible for the planning and advice.
Bring both pay stubs, statements for each workplace plan, your bank and brokerage statements and a rough list of monthly bills.
We give you a written plan that sets your cash target, each spouse’s contribution rate and where any extra savings should go.
The first conversation is free. If there is work worth doing after that, we will define the scope and cost before you decide whether to move forward.
Our offices are in Charlotte, North Carolina and Winter Park, Florida. We work with clients in Spring Hill primarily by video or phone. When an in-person meeting makes sense, we meet by appointment at CoWork, Inc. at 220 Town Center Parkway, Suite 140.
For clients whose investments we manage, accounts are held directly at Charles Schwab in the client’s own name. Holland Capital manages the investments but does not take custody of client assets. If a client ever needs in-person assistance from Schwab, the closest branch is in Franklin at 520 Cool Springs Boulevard.
We work with clients throughout Tennessee. You can see the other Tennessee communities we serve here.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Is Holland Capital Paid?
We offer financial planning on a fixed-fee basis, subject to the scope of the engagement. Investment management is offered on a fee basis, generally calculated as a percentage of the assets we manage. When providing financial planning and investment advisory services, we act as a fiduciary. Holland Capital Management may also receive commissions when clients buy insurance through the firm. Those commissions create a conflict of interest, which we disclose in our Form ADV.
What Does a Fiduciary Financial Advisor Do for a Two-Income Household?
Holland Capital acts as a fiduciary when providing financial planning and investment advice. For your household, that means the cash target and savings rates fit both jobs, not a rule of thumb.
When an account comes under our management, our fee goes up. We say so before you move anything.
