As a fiduciary financial advisor in Great Falls, Holland Capital helps recently retired executives get a fixed-fee second look at their whole plan, with their portfolio left where it is. We work with Great Falls clients by video and phone, and in person by appointment at Reston Town Center’s Regus center.
The executive career has ended. The paychecks have stopped, but the decisions have not. You want an outside check on all of it.
Great Falls has about 16,000 residents, and about 95% of homes are owner-occupied. Median home value is just over $1.4 million, and median household income is $250,000 or more.
You spent a career asking for an outside view before large decisions went ahead. Your retirement plan can get the same treatment. A second look does not mean anything is wrong, and it does not mean moving accounts. You pay a fixed fee for judgment on the whole plan. Ask any reviewer whether fiduciary duty applies and how their fee is earned.
What the Second Look Covers
We read the plan you have, or build the picture from your statements. Then we test four things. Is the income plan sound? Do the tax years fit together? Does the investment mix suit the spending ahead? Do your estate documents match how your accounts are titled?
Where we agree with what is in place, the written findings say so. Where we see a gap, they explain it and suggest a fix.
Deferred Pay and the Tax Years Ahead
Executive pay can keep arriving after the job ends, from deferred compensation to final bonuses. If you have any, we place each payment in its tax year. That shows whether lower-income years may create room for a Roth conversion, as our guide to conversion planning around deferred pay explains.

Your Portfolio Stays Put
Your accounts stay where they are. We review the mix against your income plan and can write our view as an investment policy statement your current advisor can use. Should you ever want us to take on the portfolio, investment management is a separate choice for another day.
How We Work with Clients in Great Falls
Holland Capital Management is an independent registered investment adviser and a fiduciary. M. Chad Holland, CFA, CFP® works directly with clients and is responsible for the planning and advice.
Collect any current plan, statements for every account, any deferred compensation elections, last year’s tax return and your will and trust.
The findings arrive as a written review, for a fixed fee you approve before we begin. Act on them yourself, pass them to your existing advisor or invite our help.
The first conversation is free. If there is work worth doing after that, we will define the scope and cost before you decide whether to move forward.
Our offices are in Charlotte, North Carolina and Winter Park, Florida. We work with clients in Great Falls primarily by video or phone. When an in-person meeting makes sense, we meet by appointment at the Regus center at 11921 Freedom Drive, Suite 550, at Reston Town Center.
For clients whose investments we manage, accounts are held directly at Charles Schwab in the client’s own name. Holland Capital manages the investments but does not take custody of client assets. If a client ever needs in-person assistance from Schwab, the closest branch is in Reston at 11953 Freedom Drive.
We work with clients throughout Virginia. You can see the other Virginia communities we serve here.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Get a Second Opinion Without Leaving My Current Advisor?
Yes. The review looks at your plan, not at who manages your money. You can share the findings with your advisor and decide together what to change.
Why Should a Second Look Come from a Fiduciary Financial Advisor?
Holland Capital acts as a fiduciary when providing financial planning and investment advice. In a review, our findings serve your plan, including when the right step is to change nothing.
The review is priced as a fixed fee approved in advance. If managing investments ever interests you, that service has its own fee, explained before you choose.
Where Can Great Falls Clients Meet with Us?
Our meeting place is the Regus center at 11921 Freedom Drive, Suite 550, Reston Town Center, in neighboring Reston, by appointment.
Most of the review is done by video and phone.
