As a fiduciary financial advisor in Farragut, Holland Capital helps couples at or near retirement reset how their savings are invested once withdrawals begin, with stocks, bonds and cash set for the spending ahead. Farragut clients meet with us by appointment at a Regus office in Cedar Bluff, a short drive away, and by video or phone otherwise.
Years of adding to savings. Now the money starts coming out. The portfolio may need a different setup.
Farragut has about 24,600 residents, and the median age is about 46. Roughly one in three households receives retirement income, and close to half of residents were born in another U.S. state. The median home value is about $583,000.
A portfolio built while you were saving may need to change once withdrawals begin. Once you begin taking money out, the questions change: what each year’s spending needs are, which money pays for them, and how much should stay invested for growth. The answers depend on your plan, not on age alone. Before you ask anyone, check that they are held to a fiduciary standard and learn what they earn.
Map the Spending Ahead
We start with what you plan to spend each year and what income arrives on its own, such as Social Security or a pension. The gap between the two is what your savings must cover. That number shapes the rest of the plan.
Matching Money to Its Purpose
Money you need in the next few years has a different job than money you may not touch for 15 years. We decide how much belongs in cash, how much in bonds and how much in stocks. The mix is based on your spending, your other income and how much market movement you can live with.

Five retirement decisions and why timing matters.
Keeping the Setup on Track
Withdrawals and markets can pull a portfolio away from its targets. We review the mix on a schedule and decide where withdrawals should come from as we rebalance. Our guide to portfolio rebalancing explains the approach.
Managing the Portfolio for You
Our investment management runs the accounts we manage to that plan, with withdrawals coordinated across the portfolio.

Your written plan shows your spending needs, the mix we recommend for each part of your money and how withdrawals will be handled.
The first conversation is free. If there is work worth doing after that, we will define the scope and cost before you decide whether to move forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should My Portfolio Change When I Retire?
It depends on your spending, your other income and your comfort with market swings. Some couples need very little change. Others need more cash set aside or a different mix. We show you the reasoning before we recommend anything.
How Does a Fiduciary Financial Advisor Approach a Retirement Portfolio?
Holland Capital acts as a fiduciary when providing financial planning and investment advice. For a retired couple, that means the mix we recommend is built around your withdrawals, not around a product.
Our fee rises when more of your savings move under our management, and we tell you that up front.
Where Can Farragut Clients Sit Down with Us?
